If you want something done 'right' You've got to do it yourself !

DIY is one of the best parts of the Audio hobby in my opinion. I just recently completely my first DIY componet, the Bottlehead Foreplay kit which was a blast! Having a beautifull peice of gear that you built yourself and having it play beautifull music is one of the best feelings in the world. Especially when it works the first time!

DIY holds much more value than you might think, Not only can you have a great peice of gear at a relatively inexpensive price, you can customize it to the way you want! Its also a great experience when it comes to learning about how the equipment works, and how things are made/designed. Along with the Foreplay tube preamp, i have also made Rack, which is based on the Salamander "archetype" series racks, But its also commonly known as a "flexy" rack. Desipite the name, these racks arent in the least bit flexy. And if that wasnt enough, i designed and built my own Air mass isolation platform to go under the cd player, and while i cant hear a difference with in under there or not i can definetly feel the difference when touching the cd player and the shelf below the platform.
